SERVICES

Both new and experienced coaches will benefit from this opportunity to develop strategies, learn and improve skills, and discuss the challenges of coaching children. Each of our practical, clinical services is designed to meet the particular needs of individual coaches and the coaches as a group as you strive to satisfy the demands of today's parents and players. In addition, our focus groups and coach evaluations allow administrators to better address the interests and concerns of the parents and players who are fundamental to your group's success.
ONE ON ONE & SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION

Situations may arise where more intense preparation may be necessary due to a lack of time or simply the need for a more "hands on" approach.

CoachingYouthSports can provide instruction for one or several coaches in basic skills and strategy, or we can provide a "field workshop" in a specialized area such as face-offs, one on one defense, "time and space" shooting, or goaltending.

We can also work with your players in those same specialized areas to better empower those players and provide them the skills to excel at their position.

VIDEO TRAINING AND EVALUATIONS

CoachingYouthSports believes in the power of videotape to improve the performance of coaches, much like is being done in the teaching profession.

Our video service provides effective support for parents interested in gaining greater insight into their practices, player performance, and the sideline dynamics during games. Our objective, unbiased observations will help your parents learn to be effective coaches you can trust, providing a safe and fun learning environment for young athletes. .

Similarly, videotape can help document behavior and environment when performance evaluations are being conducted. Based on our 5 metrics, we will observe, evaluate, and meet with your coaches to provide tools for success at practice and on the sideline.

OUR COACHES WORKSHOP

Our consulting services will provide a full day workshop, designed primarily for new coaches but absolutely suited for experienced coaches as well. Using a combination of lecture, stick work, role playing, and group work, our workshop will introduce coaches to the metrics we believe are at the core of effective teaching or coaching.

Covering everything from structuring an effective practice, to creating a winning attitude, promoting sportsmanship, managing the sideline on gameday and dealing with parent concerns, our workshops are a comprehensive presentation that will create confidence in your new coaches, and provide an opportunity for reflection and adjustment among your experienced coaches.

FOCUS AND DISCUSSION GROUPS

Getting timely and honest feedback from parents, coaches, or players is essential for administrators that value opinion and are interested in being responsive to their stakeholders.

It is also important that administrators receive fair and objective evaluations of their coaching staff and of their overall Associationto best insure that a team's needs are being well served and that parents feel properly empowered to express their sentiments towards the program with some degree of anonymity.

Our agency will run focus groups with parents, coaches, or players and prepare a report that you can use to take action and show your responsiveness to their views.

Recent studies of coaching have concluded that  holding discussion groups among coaches, both in and out os season, is a valuable tool for improving a coach's performance. Being able to solicit and share advice oftentimes provides solutions to problems that may have been frustrating to solve.

We will facilitate these discussion groups throughout the season- and possibly in the off season- to help coaches collaborate and elevate the quality of their work.
